Barcelona vs Celta Vigo, La Liga: Team News, Match Preview
Need to win this match. While a 9-point lead coming into this matchday would be historic to bottle, we do have a tougher remaining schedule than Real Madrid (other than the Clasico). They squeaked by Alaves at the Bernabeu, and honestly I'll take a close -- even undeserved -- win tomorrow against Celta. Osasuna and Getafe are both fighting for a European spot too, and they are also historically tough stadiums for Barca to travel to. It's entirely possible that we can slip up in both of those matches, and we need to maintain at least a 6-point gap going into the Clasico to prevent those losers from having any sort of belief.First thing has to be first, so 3 points tomorrow are a must to prevent the squad from going into a bit of a tailspin after the UCL elimination. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a close match, but I expect a win. I'll say 5-2, with a couple late goals that make the result look more comfortable than the actual match will be.

Dani Olmo has gotten a lot of flack for his injury record, even before we signed him, and rightly so. He had a poor injury record, where he only started more than 17 league matches once between 2019-2020 and 2024-25 (and that was his 2020-21 season with Leipzig). But I think it's worth shouting out that this season, despite a freak shoulder injury that could've happened to anyone, Olmo's set to play much more than he has in a while. And that's with him competing with Fermin for that #10 role in the side.Olmo's already started 25 matches, more than any season since 2021. He's almost to 2400 minutes across all comps, which is the first time since 2021 that he's played more than 2000 minutes. At 42 matches played, he's only appeared in 1 match fewer than Fermin, and 4 matches fewer than Eric (who leads the club this season at 46). Olmo's been pretty productive domestically too, as he's 3rd in the squad in non-penalty G+A with 14 (7+7) this season. All while being played all over the pitch.Who knows if Dani can keep this up next season, and I've probably doomed him to a bad muscle injury in the next few weeks by making this post. But I felt it was worth giving him some recognition as I've seen some remarks that we should sell him because he's "always injured".
