let’s be clear about something else: I didn’t like Vini celebration where he hugged the corner flag in a suggestive way. I thought it was unnecessary and inappropriate. Saying that does not mean I support racism, and it does not excuse the disgusting abuse he has faced. Racism against him or against anyone is completely unacceptable. Full stop.But condemning racism doesn’t mean I have to approve of every single thing a player does on the pitch. I’m allowed to criticize a specific action without it being twisted into something bigger. Two things can be true at the same time: racism is wrong, and I didn’t like that celebration.
